Women's Tennis Faces Iowa To Start Big Ten Tournament


ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Penn State women’s tennis team begins its Big Ten Tournament on Thursday at 3 p.m. against Iowa in the second round. The match will be live streamed on B1G+.

The Nittany Lions are the 10th seed, facing the seventh seed Hawkeyes.

Sofiya Chekhlystova earned All-Big Ten honors for the third time in her career on Wednesday. She leads PSU with 10 singles matches this Spring and has a 6-3 mark against Big Ten opponents.

Olivia Dorner has six singles wins this Spring, while Yvonne Zuffova has five.

Iowa was 11-11 overall and 6-5 in the Big Ten in the regular season. Penn State dropped a 4-0 decision at Iowa earlier this season.
