THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s tennis has added two players to the 2023-24 roster, Byers Women’s Tennis Head Coach Rodney Harmon announced. Joining the Yellow Jackets are Ginger Foster and Given Roach.
“We’re so excited that Ginger and Given are joining us this fall,” said Harmon. “Both players are very talented on the court and in the classroom and we look forward to them being an integral part of our team for the 2023-24 season.”
Foster is rated a four-star recruit by Tennis Recruiting Network and is No. 66 nationally and No. 15 in the state of California. The Los Angeles, Calif., native brings some hardware to The Flats, having won back-to-back doubles titles at the J4 ITF in Santo Domingo in Oct. 2022 and the ITF J5 doubles title in Monterrey in Feb. 2022. Foster was top of her class in both 10th and 11th grade at New West Charter Plus and graduated this past spring from Laurel Springs.
The winner of nine ITF titles, Roach won six doubles and three singles titles in 2022 including the J4 Aldershot and J5 Liverpool. A native of Cheshunt, England, Roach trained at Loughborough University National Tennis Academy and recorded an ITF junior singles career high of 171 and is currently No. 9 in the U18 LTA rankings. Her career-high WTA doubles ranking is 931.
In 2023, she saw success at the J100 Loughborough, capturing the doubles title and advancing to the semifinals in singles. She was also a singles finalist at the J200 Aldershot and a main draw Junior Wimbledon singles and doubles participant. Roach also participated in the 2022 Junior Wimbledon tournament as a qualifying singles participant and main draw doubles selection. Roach was also crowned the 2022 and 2023 U18 British Doubles Champion.
Foster and Roach join Meera Jesudason as part of the incoming recruiting class.
