With enhanced functionality and usability in mind, the Virginia Tech athletics department recently completed a redesign of its mobile app, which is now available to all Hokie fans.

The new-look HokieSports mobile app, designed in partnership with WMT, can be accessed by updating the current application if already installed for iOS or by downloading the app from the Apple Store or Google Play. Fans can expect ever-changing upgrades to the app with continued evaluation and fine-tuning to provide the best possible user experience.

“So much of how fans interact with Virginia Tech Athletics – consuming content, utilizing tickets, exploring NIL, etc. – can be found in this new, improved app,” said Lance Dozier, Virginia Tech Assistant AD of Digital Strategy & Innovation. “We’re thrilled with all of the features WMT brought to life and can’t wait for Hokie Nation to experience this cutting-edge product.”

“Virginia Tech has been intentional about bringing together best-in-class partners to promote and further the Hokie brand under the leadership of Whit Babcock and Brad Wurthman,” said Andres Focil, WMT founder and CEO. “WMT Digital proudly sits in the middle as an agnostic partner in providing the vehicle to connect the Hokie faithful.”

Users will notice an overhaul of the main app homepage built around maximizing exposure for upcoming events, top-selling gear and merchandise, special ticket offers and fundraising opportunities, the latest news, most-watched videos and more.

The menu at the bottom of the app features one-tap access to a customer’s ticket account, including the ability to download, transfer or sell their tickets for upcoming games. Users can also quickly navigate to their favorite teams, view schedules and listen to live audio broadcasts.

As fan expectations continue to shift to a more personalized experience, users will have the ability to create HokieSports app profiles that allow them to stay up-to-date with their favorite Tech sports. Fans can sign up for team-specific push notifications to get the latest updates delivered right to their mobile device.

In that same vein, the refreshed mobile app will serve as a fan’s one-stop shop on gameday. Tickets can be easily purchased or accessed, while fans will also be able to upgrade their experience through Maroon & Orange Memories, participate in the Hokie Lights light show and more.
