Vanderbilt Women's Tennis | Stevens to Represent Dores, Country Internationally

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Amy Stevens, a rising junior with the Vanderbilt women’s tennis program, will compete on the international stage as a part of Australia’s team at the upcoming FISU World University Games.

Competition at the event, which will take place in Chengdu, China, begins with singles action on July 29 and continues until medals are awarded Aug. 5 and 6. She will be paired with Texas-San Antonio’s Alexandra Weir in doubles and also play mixed doubles with Joshua Charlton from Oregon at the competition.

Stevens earned 14 singles victories—going 2-0 at No. 4 and 5-4 at the No. 5 position in dual-match competition—while helping the Commodores to a 16-12 finish after a first-round victory in the NCAA Tournament in 2022-23. The native of Geelong has posted a 36-28 overall singles record her first two seasons at Vandy.

She is the second member of the program to compete at the FISU World University Games after former Dore Fernanda Contreras played for Mexico in the 2019 edition of the event held in Naples, Italy.
