NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team is scheduled to play No. 11 Texas A&M at 5 p.m. on Friday afternoon in College Station. The Commodores will then travel to Baton Rouge to face LSU on Sunday at 11 a.m.
Last weekend saw the Dores (8-4, 3-2 SEC) win matches against No. 33 Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Vanderbilt dropped the doubles point and came back to win four singles matches, defeating the Rebels 4-3. Mississippi State fell to the Dores on Sunday, 6-1.
Ranked No. 29 in the latest ITA rankings, the Dores boast two student-athletes ranked nationally for singles as well as two doubles teams.
Texas A&M
The Aggies are 13-6 overall and boast a 5-1 record for SEC play. Last weekend, A&M split their matches to No. 10 Georgia and No. 22 Tennessee. Georgia defeated A&M 4-3, and the Aggies were victorious against the Vols, posting a 4-3 victory.
LSU
The Tigers are 10-6, 2-4 SEC; their most recent matchup was this past Sunday against No. 10 Georgia, where they lost 4-0. And the Tigers lost to the Vols on Friday 4-0.
