SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men’s tennis team took on USC in the final two regular season matches of the year and came away with a 4-0 loss.
USC ended up taking the doubles point with the Trojans picking up wins on courts No. 1 and No. 2. On court No. 3, Dylan Applegate and Gianluca Citadini were up 4-3 before the match went unfinished.
In singles, the Trojans picked up wins at No. 4 and No. 1. The match was clinched on court No. 3 and USC claimed the 4-0 victory.
Michael Blando won his first set 6-0 but dropped his second set 2-6. He was up 3-1 in the third set before the match was clinched. Citadini narrowly dropped his first set 6-4 and was tied 4-4 in his second before it went unfinished.
UP NEXT
Utah will head to the Pac-12 Championships as the No. 9 seed and are set to take on the No. 8 seeded USC Trojans on Wednesday, April 25 at 1 p.m. (MT).
