CLEMSON, S.C. – Clemson officially closed out the regular season by taking down Virginia Tech 5-2, as the Tigers celebrate Ryuhei Azuma, Trey Stinchcomb and Spencer Whitaker on Senior Day. The win marked Clemson’s fourth ACC victory over the 2024 season.
“It was a nice day in Clemson to play our last home match this season and get a win,” Head Coach Brandon Wagner said. “Now it’s time to get some work in before our guys get set to battle in the ACC tournament next Thursday. They are hungry and will be hunting for more success.”
In doubles, the Tigers were electric to start as they dominated on courts one and three. Securing a win first was the No. 89 ranked duo of Max Smith and Noa Vukadin as they took down the No. 63 ranked pairing of Ryan Fishback and Maxine St. Hilaire, 6-3 to tab the first doubles win.
Virginia Tech responded back with a 6-4 win on court two which left the duo of Marko Mesarovic and Matt Pitts with the deciding point. The duo secured an impressive 7-5 victory over Virginia Tech’s Manuel Conclaves and Hugo Maia to help Clemson clinch the doubles point and secure a 1-0 lead.
