Tatiana Simova Named to ACC All-Academic Squad

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – University of Louisville women’s tennis player Tatiana Simova has been named to the All-ACC Academic Team announced Thursday.

Duke’s Chloe Beck has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year. A psychology major from Watkinsville, Georgia, Beck led the Blue Devils in singles wins and finished a stellar junior campaign with an overall record of 34-11 and an ITA national singles ranking of No. 8. Beck earned All-ACC and All-America honors after a perfect 18-0 regular-season mark in singles, including a 13-0 record in ACC play. Beck was recently named to the 2021-22 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America First Team, becoming just the fourth women’s tennis player in Duke history and the first since 1999 to earn a selection to one of the CoSIDA Academic All-America women’s teams.

ACC Champion Duke led the league with seven players on the academic team, followed by Miami and North Carolina with six each. NC State and Wake Forest had five players each on the team.

The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards were established in September 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
