Rodenas Advances to Singles Quarterfinals at ITA Regionals

CARY, N.C. – Duke men’s tennis junior Pedro Rodenas advanced to the quarterfinals of the singles main draw as Duke completed the third day at the ITA Carolina Regionals at Cary Tennis Park. 
 
Rodenas also advanced to the doubles quarterfinals with doubles partner Gerard Planelles Ripoll, alongside teammates Sam Landau/Theo Winegar.
 
Second-seeded Rodenas advanced to the singles quarterfinals after his opponent Novak Novakovic (South Carolina State) retired due to injury in the round of 16. He will face Lucas Andrade da Silva of South Carolina Sunday at 10 a.m.
 
In doubles action, third-seeded Rodenas/Planelles Ripoll tallied an 8-3 win over Wake Forest’s Jamieson Nathan/Harry Thursfield and will take on Max Damm/Viktor Markov (Clemson) Sunday in the quarterfinals at 1:30 p.m. 
 
Rounding out Duke’s action on Saturday was 11th-seeded Landau/Winegar as they defeated Adi Dagan/Alexander Ferdinando Robin (Campbell) 8-1. The duo will face 13th-seeded Alex Degabriele/Joseph Wayand Sunday at 1 p.m.
