CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Two members of the Fighting Illini men’s tennis program will make the quick trek to nearby Normal, Ill., this weekend to compete in the Redbird Invitational hosted by Illinois State, Friday-Sunday.
Who’s Competing
Freshman Tyler Bowers enters the second tournament of his college career. Last week, in his debut at the Drobac/Beeman Invitational at Michigan State, Bowers earned his first win as an Illini with a 6-2, 6-2 victory in his opening match against the Spartans’ Reed Cocker.
Redshirt junior Lucas Horve is also set to compete in his second event of the season. Horve missed the team’s first two events of the fall schedule due to injury, but returned at MSU and earned his first win of the year in a tight battle against Northwestern’s Saiprakash Goli (4-6, 6-2, 12-10).
