CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—The University of North Carolina men’s tennis team will begin Atlantic Coast Conference play and its 2023 outdoor season when it hosts Boston College on Sunday at the Chapel Hill Tennis Club.
The outdoor courts at UNC’s home facility, the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center, are under construction and are not available this weekend, leading the Tar Heels to play outside at the Chapel Hill Tennis Club (403 Westbrook Drive, Carrboro, NC 27510). Carolina played its outdoor matches in 2022 at the Tennis Club but should be able to debut outdoor play at Cone-Kenfield soon.
The Tar Heels are 7-4 this season against one of the most challenging non-conference schedules in the nation. UNC has played No. 9 South Carolina on the road, No. 3 TCU and No. 13 Harvard at home and No. 6 USC, No. 16 Florida and No. 8 South Carolina at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
The Eagles are 5-2 overall this season, including 0-1 in the ACC. BC lost, 7-0, at Duke on Friday.
