INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Kari Miller of the University of Michigan women’s tennis team grabbed her second straight NCAA Singles Championship berth as announced by the NCAA on Tuesday (May 3). Michigan has had at least one singles competitor in the tournament in every season of head coach Ronni Bernstein‘s tenure, dating back to 2008.
Miller is currently ranked No. 19 in singles by the ITA after putting together a 26-9 overall singles record. She is 15-3 in dual-match action, highlighted by a 14-3 record at the No. 1 spot. She has nine wins over ranked opponents in dual matches alone this season after knocking off No. 9 Irina Cantos of Ohio State in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) to help Michigan to the 2022 Big Ten Tournament title. Miller won the ITA Midwest Regional Singles Championship in the fall and was named the Big Ten Athlete of the Week three times this season.
Miller is the ninth Wolverine in program history to earn multiple berths to compete in the NCAA Singles Championship.
The singles draw for the tournament, held at the University of Illinois, will be announced later this month.
