First Round


(6) Washington vs. (11) Washington State, Wednesday, April 24 at 3 p.m. PT, Weil Tennis Academy
 
SEATTLE – Washington women’s tennis (16-9, 5-5 Pac-12) begins postseason play this week in the final Pac-12 Championships. The No. 26 Huskies will head down to Ojai, Calif. for the first round of conference postseason action on Wednesday, April 24.
 
After facing Washington State in the regular season finale last weekend in Pullman, No. 6 seed Washington will face the No. 11 seed Cougars (10-11, 1-9 Pac-12) in the opening round of the tournament. First serve is set for 3 p.m. at Weil Tennis Academy in Ojai.
 
The Huskies, ranked 26th in the latest ITA poll, swept the Cougars last week 4-0 as Dariya Detkovskaya clinched the win for the Dawgs in a 7-6, 6-0 victory.
 
If the Huskies win in the first round, they will advance to the quarterfinals to take on No. 3 seed USC at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 25.
 
Three matches will take place on the opening day of the tournament. No. 8 Utah and No 9 Colorado will be the first match of the week at 9 a.m. on Wednesday. The second match of the day will feature No. 7 Arizona and No. 10 Oregon at 12 p.m. and the Huskies will close out the first round at 3 p.m.
 
No. 1 seed UCLA, No. 2 seed Stanford, No. 3 seed USC, No. 4 seed Cal and No. 5 seed Arizona State all bypassed the first round and will begin their play in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
 
All first-round matches will take place at Weil Tennis Academy. Coverage for the first round, quarterfinals and semifinals will be available at Pac-12.com and the Pac-12 Now app. The Pac-12 Championship match on Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m. will be on Pac-12 Networks.
