Hokies close weekend at Virginia Tech Halloween Tournament

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech’s Maxime St. Hilaire paced the field over the weekend at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center, going 3-0 in singles with wins over ODU, ETSU and Elon. 
 
To start the weekend, St. Hilaire, along with fellow freshman Benjamin Pomeranets and redshirt-junior Frank Thompson claimed straight-set wins on Friday, while Michael Shepheard and Alex Ix, St. Hilaire and Manuel Goncalves and Thompson and Pomeranets picked up doubles wins.
 
Matt Harper and Alberto Orso, along with St. Hilaire and Goncalves and Shepheard and Ix, grabbed doubles win on Saturday against ETSU, while St. Hilaire continued his winnings ways on Saturday.
 
Five Hokies grabbed singles wins on Sunday to wrap up the tournament: St. Hilaire, Orso, Shepheard, Ix and Ilyas Fahim, while Orso and Harper and St. Hilaire and Goncalves continued their hot streaks in doubles.
