Gailis and Briggs Selected to 2024 NCAA Individual Tournament Bracket

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida’s Carly Briggs and Rachel Gailis have been selected to compete as individuals in the 2024 NCAA Women’s Tennis Championships. The Division I Women’s Tennis Subcommittee made the announcement Tuesday evening and handed out 64 bids.

The singles competition will be conducted May 20-25 at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma, after the conclusion of the team championship, which runs from May 17-19.

Both No. 7 Rachel Gailis and No. 56 Carly Briggs were at-large selections alongside 50 other players. The final 12 student-athletes in the singles bracket received an automatic qualification bid.

Carly Briggs had an incredible regular season for the Gators and is currently on an eight-match win streak. Her most recent win was against the No. 19 ranked player in the nation, marking her highest season win. Overall Briggs went 8-1 in SEC play this year and will look to extend her individual success in Oklahoma.

Rachel Gailis has been vital for Florida this season, holding down court one in singles. Gailis is ranked in the nation’s top-10 entering the tournament and has defeated seven nationally ranked players this season. Gailis’ biggest career win was over then ranked No. 7 Ayana Akli of South Carolina, coming out unscathed in straight sets.
