Four Teams Headed to Semifinals of 2024 ACC Women's Tennis Championships


CARY, N.C. (theACC.com) – Florida State, North Carolina, NC State and Virginia all advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Championship on Friday at the Cary Tennis Park.

Battling through the weather, No. 1 seed North Carolina swept No. 8 seed Duke, 4-0, while No. 4 seed NC State blanked No. 13 seed Clemson, 4-0. No. 2 seed Virginia shut out Notre Dame, 4-0, and No. 3 seed Florida State took care of No. 6 seed Miami, 4-1.

North Carolina will face NC State in a rematch of the 2023 ACC and NCAA Championships. The 2023 ACC Championship saw the Wolfpack become champions for the first time in program history, while the first all-ACC NCAA final saw the Tar Heels become national champions for the first time. The rivalry matchup will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra at 2 p.m.

Virginia faces Florida State for the second time in a week in an almost immediate rematch of the Cavaliers’ 4-2 victory to close out the regular season.

Both semifinals will begin at 2 p.m. with Sunday’s championship match slated for 10 a.m. Sunday on ACC Network Extra.

Additional parking for Saturday’s semifinals is available at Green Hope High School (GHHS), which is located at 2500 Carpenter Upchurch Road, Cary, NC, 27519.
