NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The No. 35 Vanderbilt women’s tennis team will host No. 49 Kentucky on Saturday at noon for its lone SEC match of the weekend.
The Commodores went 2-1 last weekend, including a victory over SEC foe No. 50 Alabama. The weekend also saw No. 35 Celia-Belle Mohr and Anessa Lee extend their singles win streaks to five and four, respectively. In addition to Mohr, two Dores earned individual rankings in the latest ITA polls: Bridget Stammel at No. 78 and Anna Ross at No. 113. Mohr and doubles partner Marcella Cruz came in at No. 73.
The Wildcats also faced off against Auburn and Alabama last weekend; however, they were unable to come out victorious. On Wednesday, Kentucky fell to Ohio State in a midweek matchup. In SEC play, the Wildcats are 4-6 and have one singles player (No. 32) and one doubles pairing (No. 44) in the latest ITA rankings.
Vanderbilt has won nine of the past 10 matchups against Kentucky and will work to improve to 33-20 overall against the SEC rival.
