TULSA, Okla. – Three Blue Devils concluded their time at the 2022 ITA All-American Championships at the Case Tennis Center in LaFortune Park on Sunday.
Junior Faris Khan and sophomore Jake Krug finished the tournament with a win in the prequalifying consolation round.
Khan dropped a nail-biter in his opening set to Marko Galic of Toledo 7-6 (6) but was able to bounce back for a dominate performance in the final two frames 6-1, 6-2 to claim the win. Krug made quick work of Arizona State’s Constantinos Koshis 6-2, 6-4 in his victory.
Junior Andrew Dale also saw action on Sunday, but dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to George Stoupe of LSU.
In addition, junior Niroop Vallabhaneni was set to compete in the consolation round but was forced to withdraw due to injury.
Rookie Pedro Rodenas and senior Andrew Zhang begin their tournament on Monday in the qualifying round. Rodenas is scheduled to battle Baylor’s Zsombor Velcz at 8 a.m. CT, while Zhang faces Bradley Frye of Southern California at 9 a.m. CT. Both matches will be played at the Case Tennis Center in LaFortune Park.
Doubles action also kicks off Monday with Garrett Johns and Rodenas pairing up against Alex Kotzen and Michael Zheng of Columbia. That match is slated for 1:30 p.m. CT at the Case Tennis Center in LaFortune Park.
