CARY, N.C. – After garnering two wins, freshmen Stewart Aronson and Noa Vukadin are set to compete in the round of 32 as three other Tigers picked up singles wins after the first day of ITA Regionals.

“Glad our guys had the opportunity to compete against some of our rivals today. Lots of good performances and a few others that came down to a point here or there that almost fell our way but didn’t. Our guys are eager to go back to work tomorrow and continue to build good habits,” Head Coach Brandon Wagner said.

Newcomer’s Aronson and Vukadin impressed all on the court as they both defeated their opponents in the round of 128 and the round of 64 as they are set to compete in Saturday’s round of 32. Aronson earned his first singles win of the day against South Carolina’s Carter Morgan (6-3,6-4). The freshman then advanced on to play UNC Chapel Hill’s William Jansen who he was able to take down in three sets (5-7, 6-1, 6-0) to earn the victory.

Vukadin downed his first opponent in two sets as he secured the win against The Citadel’s Teodor Cariov (6-3, 6-2). The newcomer recorded his second singles victory of the day against UNC Charlotte’s Ivan Dreycopp (6-0, 7(7)-6(5)) to advance to Saturday’s round of 32.

Marko Mesarovic, Maxwell Smith and Trey Stinchcomb also recorded singles wins as all three Tigers secured a victory against their respective opponents in the round of 128.

The Clemson Tigers will return back to the courts tomorrow, October 21st for the second day of ITA Regionals.
