COLUMBUS, Ohio – Another day and another win for Ohio State’s Matej Vocel and Robert Cash at the NCAA Doubles Championship in Champaign, Ill. The Buckeye duo knocked-off Wake Forest’s Jakob Schnaitter and Siddhant Banthia in three sets to advance to the NCAA Semifinals.

Vocel and Cash got an early break in the opening set and rode that to a 6-4 victory. Wake Forest then turned the tables with a 6-4 win in the second set to even the match and send it to a super-breaker. The Buckeyes opened up a lead midway through and took full control on a nice return from Cash, making the score 8-4. They eventually won 10-7 and will head to Friday’s semifinal match.

On Friday, Vocel and Cash will take on South Carolina’s Connor Thomson and Daniel Rodrigues who have won three consecutive straight-set matches.

This season, Vocel and Cash have won the ITA All-American Championship and the Fall National Championship, becoming just the fifth team to ever win both events in the same fall. They spent the majority of the spring ranked No. 1 and have a record of 36-4.
