The sophomore won both her singles matches and clinched the doubles point in the quarterfinal.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Florida women’s tennis sophomore Alicia Dudeney was selected to the 2023 SEC All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the SEC Tournament Championship match between No. 1 seed Texas A&M and No. 2 seed Georgia.

Dudeney was also named to the All-Tournament Team in 2022 becoming the first Gator to earn the honor in consecutive tournaments since Anna Danilina (2017, 2018). Additionally, Dudeney is the sixth Gator all-time to earn the accolade twice in their career and fifth to do so in back-to-back years.

Florida (16-7, 9-4 SEC) reached the semifinals for the 33rd time in program history after beating Ole Miss, 4-0, but was eliminated by No. 1 seed and runner-up Texas A&M, 4-2, on Saturday afternoon.

Dudeney was undefeated in singles play at the three position and clinched the doubles point in the quarterfinal against Ole Miss. The No. 21 ranked pair of Dudeney and Bente Spee beat Ole Miss’ Lillian Gabrielsen/Kelsey Mize 6-2 for the 1-0 lead over the Rebels on Friday morning. Florida’s advantage was padded to 3-0 after the No. 100 ranked Dudeney downed Anaelle Leclercq in straights, 6-3, 6-1.

Against No. 2 ranked Texas A&M, the sophomore added the 100th overall victory of her career and brought Florida back within a point of the Aggies defeating No. 57 Mia Kupres in a dominant showing, 6-3, 6-4 snapping the freshman’s nine-match winning streak. With the win, the native of Hove, United Kingdom added her third ranked-victory of the spring.
