Alabama Women’s Tennis Signs Graduate Transfer Margaux Maquet


TUSCALOOSA, Ala.– Alabama women’s tennis team welcomes an elite transfer to the program, head coach Jenny Mainz announced on Tuesday. Margaux Maquet from Ath, Belgium has spent the last four years with Charlotte before committing to the Crimson Tide as a graduate transfer.

Alabama Head Coach Jenny Mainz Said

“Alabama Women’s Tennis just got better with Margaux Maquet joining our team next season. Margaux brings a wealth of experience playing at the top of the lineup at UNC Charlotte. She’s a mature, savvy competitor that will give our team a boost at the top of the lineup.”

“Margaux will make a big impact on Alabama Women’s Tennis Team. She is driven and hardworking but more importantly, she’s a team player. Margaux brings a lot of experience at the collegiate level and has been nationally ranked in Singles and Doubles. We look forward to having Margaux on our team and we will continue to work on improving her game. Roll Tide!”

This Fall At Charlotte

  • Maquet started the season off ranked No. 19 in the ITA doubles rankings
  • This achievement made her Charlotte’s highest-ever ranked doubles player in program history
  • Maquet reached the ITA Regionals Quarterfinals before she fell to No. 4 Chloe Beck (Duke)
  • She was also selected to compete in the ITA All-American Championships
  • To then qualify to play in the NCAA ITA Fall National Championships

Margaux’s Career At Charlotte (2019-2022)

  • Maquet 2021 highest singles ITA ranking was No. 43
  • She currently still is Charlotte’s highest-ever ranked singles player in program history
  • 2022 Conference USA’s First Team All-Conference Doubles Team
  • Two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete
