Alabama Women’s Tennis Set to Compete in Tusca Bama Cup Tournament


TUSCALOOSA, Ala. The Alabama Tennis Stadium will serve as the host site for The Tusca Bama Cup Tournament this weekend. The tournament begins at 8 a.m. CT on Saturday followed by a 9 a.m. start on Sunday. Monday’s start time is still to be announced.

The Tournament

  • The Tusca Bama Cup is a University Tennis College Circuit open event presented by the Tuscaloosa Tennis Center at The University of Alabama

  • This will be the second year for the Tusca Bama Cup
  • The Women’s Division has 32-player draws with each singles match set for best 2-out-of-3 sets, including a 10-point tiebreaker played in lieu of a third set
  • The Tide will have five players competing in the tournament, each opening with a first round bye
  • Alabama participants include Petra Sedlackova, Anna Parkhomenko, Loudmilla Bencheikh, Klara Milicevic and Ola Pitak
  • Sedlackova, Parkhomenko and Bencheik will play their first set of matches Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
  • The opening matches for Milicevic and Pitak are scheduled to start at 1:15 p.m.
