UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State men’s tennis team fell to No. 1 Ohio State, 7-0, on Friday.
DOUBLES
Playing at No. 1, Nolan Ranger and Ari Cotoulas faced #13 Andrew Lutschaunig and Justin Boulais, but fell 6-2. At No. 3, Miko Eala and Alex Sterin dropped their match to Bryce Nakashima and Alexander Bernard, 6-2.
On court No. 2, Stefan Simeunovic and Jack Martuccio trailed 5-2 against #2 Robert Cash and JJ Tracy, when the match was deemed unfinished, as the doubles point was already won by Ohio State.
SINGLES
At the No. 1 spot, #98 Eala kept it close, but dropped his match 6-4, 6-4 to #28 Boulais. Simeunovic played at No. 2, but fell 6-2, 6-3 to #15 Tracy.
Taking court No. 3, Ranger dropped his match #24 Anthrop, 6-3, 6-1. At No. 4, Cotoulas fell to #110 Bernard, 6-1, 6-2. Martuccio stepped in at No. 5 but dropped, 6-0, 6-1, to Bryce Nakashima. On the No. 6 court, Sterin played a strong match against Preston Stearns, bringing it to a match tiebreak, but ultimately fell 6-2, 5-7, 10-6.
UP NEXT
The Nittany Lions will finish off their home season next weekend on Friday, Apr. 12 against Michigan and Sunday, Apr. 14 against Michigan State. Both matches will be held at the Indoor Tennis Center at 4 p.m.
