CLEMSON S.C. – Clemson Women’s Tennis (5-1) is set for a doubleheader against Georgia Southern (6-0) and College of Charleston (2-0). This is the fourth meeting between the Eagles and the Tigers, with Clemson leading the series 3-0. Against Charleston, this will be the 32nd meeting between the programs, with Clemson leading 30-1.
The matchups are set for Saturday, February 10, at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility. The Eagles will be the first battle starting at 11 a.m., with Charleston following at 4 p.m.
The event is free for all to attend. Streaming and live scoring are available for both matches utilizing the links above. Central Spirit will serve as the honorary group attending Saturday’s match.
“Georgia Southern and College of Charleston are two very competitive and well-coached squads,” head coach Boomer Saia said. “We must bring our best level at all seven spots to give ourselves a chance to win. Our group is excited for the opportunity to play well both times on Saturday!”
The Tigers are coming off of a great weekend win against the Charlotte 49ers 4-2. In doubles, Eleni Louka and Jenna Thompson won the first match 6-4. Sophia Hatton and Alexandra Anttila defeated Lucie Petruzelova and Emma Wilkins in an easy 6-1 duel, securing the doubles point.
In Singles, after conceding a point to the 49ers on court 6, Hatton swiftly defeated Suchankova 6-1, 6-2 to go up 2-1. Mayorova followed shortly after by confidently winning 6-4, 6-4 on court 2.
