Conchita Martinez is back in the coaching game.

Martinez will coach world No. 34 Marie Bouzková in 2024, she told Eurosport Spain.

Nadal: Ready to Face Fears and Doubts

Former world No. 2 Martinez made history in 1994 when she defeated Martina Navratilova to become the first Spanish woman to win the Wimbledon.

In 2017, Martinez coached Garbine Muguruza to the Wimbledon championship with the hard-hitting Spaniard stopping Venus Williams in the final.

Last April, Martinez and Muguruza announced the end of their long-time partnership.

The 5’11” Bouzkova, who was previously coached by Antonin Bolardt and her father, Milan, reached the Nanchang final in her last tournament of the season, bowing to Czech teammate Katerina Siniakova in a third-set tiebreaker in the final.

The 2022 Prague champion, Bouzkova has developed into a dangerous grass-court player and should benefit from Martinez’s all-surface experience.

In 2022, Bouzkova knocked off Caroline Garcia en route to the Wimbledon quarterfinals where she tested Ons Jabeur in a three-set loss. Bouzkova backed up that result again toppling No. 5 Garcia to reach the Wimbledon fourth round in July where she pushed eventual-champion Marketa Vondrousova to three sets.

An accomplished doubles player, Bouzkova has won five WTA doubles titles with three different partners and is currently ranked No. 23 in doubles.
