ATLANTA –– Roan Jones highlighted the Alabama men’s tennis team on final day of the Georgia Tech Invite, concluding his week undefeated in singles action.
Jones opened his day with an 8-4 victory in doubles action alongside UA teammate Yair Sarouk. The UA duo downed Georgia Tech’s Krish Arora and Rohan Sachdev as Jones and Sarouk competed as a pair for the first time during the tournament.
Jones followed with a victory in singles play, defeating Yale’s Eric Li. Jones dropped just two games over his two sets, recording a 6-1, 6-1 victory to post his third win of the tournament. Jones also recorded wins against Georgia State’s Baran Solyer (6-3, 5-7, 6-4) and Georgia’s Cyrus Mahjoob (6-2, 6-3) on the opening two days of the tournament.
“Another good weekend of matches and opportunities to become better competitors. We are clearer with our game plans and our willingness to find solutions is strengthening. We have another chance to continue the process next weekend at home at the TuscaBama UTR as well as take advantage of the training time we have between now and the start of our spring.”
