OJAI, Calif. – Oregon men’s tennis was defeated 4-0 today by No. 10 USC in the second round of the Pac-12 tournament.
The doubles point was up for grabs after court two went to the Trojans and Oregon’s Joshua Charlton and Quinn Vandecasteele won 6-1 on court one. Luke Vandecasteele and Vlad Breazu battle point-for-point to a six-all tiebreak. In the end, USC won the tiebreaker 7-4.
Oregon’s singles lineup would be shaken up a bit with the absence of Jesper Klov-Nilsson. Ivailo Keremedchiev, Breazu and Luke would all move up a spot, with Avi Shugar at six in singles. Breazu was swept on four, as was Charlton on one, making it a 3-0 advantage for USC. All four remaining singles matches were either 7-6 or 7-5 in the first set and the Ducks were not out. Unfortunately, time was not on the Ducks’ side as a clinch-point on court five went to the Trojans after Luke fell 7-5, 6-2.
