CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 15 Virginia women’s tennis team (7-3, 1-1 ACC) plays a pair of road matches this week, starting with a contest on Friday, March 3 at 3 p.m. at No. 16 Syracuse (9-0, 3-0 ACC). The Cavaliers close out the weekend by playing at Boston College (7-4, 0-3 ACC) on Sunday at 10 a.m.

NOTING THE CAVALIERS
- Virginia moved up five spots in the updated ITA computerized team rankings to No. 15 after last week’s 4-3 victory against No. 10 Duke
- Singles and doubles rankings were not updated this week. New rankings will come out on Tuesday
- Sara Ziodato won the clincher against the Blue Devils, winning 7-6 (5), 6-4 on court four against Ellie Coleman
- Ziodato leads the Cavaliers with 16 singles victories this season
- Natasha Subash is a perfect 5-0 at No. 2 with a 13-3 overall record
- Subhash and Elaine Chervinsky are ranked No. 7 in doubles. They played together for the first time in dual matches this season against UNC and Duke, winning both matches to help the Cavaliers clinch the doubles point against both opponents
- Subhash is 18-3 in doubles this year with an 8-1 mark in dual matches
- Mélodie Collard and Julia Adams partnered to win 6-3 against UNC’s Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig. Crawley and Tanguilig were ranked No. 1 in doubles in the final rankings of the fall and the first individual rankings of the spring and were No. 4 in the most recent computer rankings
- Adams is 8-2 in doubles in dual matches and 18-8 overall
NOTING THE OPPOSITION
- Syracuse moved up from No. 53 in the rankings to No. 16 after picking up wins last weekend against Florida State and No. 23 Miami
- This marks the first time since March 2020 that the Orange have landed in the top 25 and the program’s highest position since February 2019 when Syracuse was ranked 10th nationally
- The Orange do not have any ranked singles players or doubles teams
- Maria Aguiar of BC is ranked No. 119 in singles and No. 60 in doubles, partnering with Laura Lopez
- Virginia is 14-1 all-time against Syracuse and has won the last 10 meetings
- Virginia is 25-0 against Boston College
