WACO, Texas- Chelsea Fontenel and Emilija Tverijonaite each picked up singles wins along with a doubles win from Giulia Morlet and Sara Svetac on Tuesday afternoon against No. 32 Baylor (9-5), but it was not enough for the No. 30 Sun Devils (7-4) as they were bested by the Bears, 4-2, at the Hurd Tennis Center.
Morlet and Svetac got the morning started for the Sun Devils as they picked up a quick 6-1 win on Court 2. The Bears took the doubles point with wins on Courts 1 and 3.
Baylor took the first singles match on Court 6, then Tverijonaite put the Sun Devils on the board with a three-set win on 4. The Bears increased their lead to 3-1 on Court 1 off a retirement, but Fontenel put the Sun Devils within one off a three-set win on Court 2. The Bears clinched the match in a three-set contest on Court 3.
