SPOKANE, Wash. — The Husky men’s tennis team had a 4-0 singles mark on the second day of ITA Northwest Regionals at Gonzaga’s Stevens Tennis Center. In the main draw, junior Han-Chih Lin and sophomore Rikuto Yamaguchi both won in straight sets to advance to the quarterfinals.

Lin, the No. 2 overall seed, defeated Oregon’s Avi Shugar, 6-1, 6-2, to reach the quarters. Yamaguchi was a 6-4, 6-0 winner over Eastern Washington’s Erik Sarlvik.

Redshirt freshman Jacob Sleight earned the first win of his career in the consolation bracket, beating Dario Ristovski of Seattle U., 6-2, 7-5. Sophomore Nedim Suko also posted a 6-1, 6-4 win over Bruno Ortega of Eastern.

The Dawgs didn’t have the same success in doubles, dropping both of their main draw matches today.
