THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech women’s tennis team returns to action traveling to Illinois for a pair of matches this weekend. The Yellow Jackets open at Illinois on Friday before visiting Northwestern on Sunday.

SCOUTING TECH – Georgia Tech enters the weekend matchups after splitting a pair of contests in the ITA Kickoff Weekend, hosted by Cal. The Jackets dropped a hard-fought match to San Diego to open the weekend, but rebounded with a win over Princeton to round out play. After collecting the doubles point, Tech sealed the win with singles victories from Kylie Bilchev, Mahak Jain and Ava Hrastar.

SCOUTING ILLINOIS – The Fighting Illini host their spring home opener on Friday against Georgia Tech after opening the season at Kentucky before traveling to NC State for the ITA Kickoff Weekend. Illinois blanked Furman in the final match of ITA Kickoff. Last season, Illinois went 16-9 overall, 8-3 in Big Ten play and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament, falling to Wisconsin. Georgia Tech and Illinois have met once in program history, back in 2007 with the Jackets taking a 7-0 decision.

SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN – The Wildcats opened the 2023 spring slate pocketing a pair of 7-0 wins over UIC and Chicago State. Northwestern traveled to South Carolina for the ITA Kickoff Weekend, falling to the Gamecocks in the opening match, but picked up a win over Washington State to close it out. Last season, Northwestern went 14-10 overall and 8-3 in Big Ten play. They earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, falling to Wake Forest in the first round. The Jackets lead the all-time series against Northwestern, 11-9, and have won the last three-straight. The squads met last season in Atlanta with Tech taking a 4-3 victory on four singles matches after dropping the doubles point.
