Women’s Tennis Drops Match to Princeton

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women’s tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to Princeton on Sunday.
 
DOUBLES 
 
The Princeton women’s tennis team struck first by taking the doubles point. The team took the matches on courts 1 and 3.
 
Jordina Cegarra and Alina Lebedeva fell to Madeleine Jessup and Leena Bennetto, 6-3. 
 
Olivia Dorner and Karly Friedland lost a tough fought match to Bella Chhiv and Eva Elbaz, 6-4. 
 
Yvonne Zuffova and Sofiya Chekhlystova’s doubles match was left unfinished. 
 
SINGLES
 
Sofiya Chekhlystova grabbed one of the Nittany Lions’ two points of the day with her win at No. 1. She defeated Neha Velaga, 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-3.
 
At 2, Olivia Dorner took the other point for the Blue and White. She won her match against Leena Bennetto, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.
 
Jordina Cegarra fell 6-2, 6-4 to Madeleine Jessup at the No. 4 position. 
 
At 3, Yvonne Zuffova dropped her match against Alice Ferlito, 6-4, 7-5.
 
Karly Friedland lost her match to Bella Chhiv, 6-2, 6-4.
 
Alina Lebedeva’s match was left unfinished. 
 
UP NEXT
 
The Nittany Lions will travel to California for a three-game road trip. The team will play Long Beach State (March 6), LMU (March 8) and UCSB (March 9).
