Women’s Tennis Begins Fall Season Friday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State Women’s Team, which has made five consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, begins its 2022 fall season at the University of Alabama Four in the Fall (Sept. 30-Oct. 2) and at the ITA All-American tournaments (play begins Oct. 1).  Both events begin this weekend in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Cary, N.C. with five Seminoles competing in the Four in the Fall event and two more playing in the ITA tournament.

Florida State is among four teams competing for championships in singles and doubles at the Alabama Tournament.  The Seminoles are joined by Illinois, South Alabama, and UAB as the four teams in the women’s competition.  Play begins with the singles competition each day (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) at 10:00 a.m. (ET) while the doubles competition begins at 12:30 a.m. (ET) on Friday and Saturday and at 12 Noon (ET) on Sunday.

Playing for the Seminoles at the Four in the Fall are junior Anna Arkadianou, redshirt sophomore Alice Amendola, sophomore Olympe Lancelot, and freshmen Millie Bissett and Cade Cricchio.

Florida State is represented by graduate student Mila Saric and junior Ellie Schoppe in the ITA All-American which begins Saturday at the Cary Tennis Park.  The event will be played in three stages: Pre-qualifying (Oct. 1-2), qualifying (Oct. 3-4) and Main Draw (Oct. 5-9).
