Women Tennis Concludes Day One of June Stewart Invitational

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ole Miss women’s tennis finished the first day of the June Stewart Invitational. Transfers Ava Hrastar and Briana Crowley grabbed a singles and doubles win in their Rebels debut. The Rebels tallied two doubles and five singles victories on the day as a team.
 
In doubles, Kelsey Mize started the fall how she left off in the spring, earning her first doubles victory in dominant fashion. Mize joined by Reka Zadori outperformed the Lipscomb’s double team by a score of 6-1.
 
The rest of the team competed against Louisville in doubles. The former doubles All-American Hrastar and partner Crowley found chemistry earlier, taking the 6-3 victory.
 
Crowley took her momentum from doubles into singles, swiftly winning in straight set, 6-1, 6-1. Rachel Krzyzak and Andrea Nova followed closely behind with their straight set singles wins. Krzyzak took down her opponent, 6-2, 6-1, and Nova earned her first collegiate singles win with a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
 
Despite losing her first set, Ludmila Kareisová battled back to win the second set, 6-4. The 2023 All-SEC Second Team honoree shut the door in a 10-4 third-set tiebreaker. Hraster finished day one with a tight 6-4, 7-6(5) victory.
 
The Rebels will start day two playing doubles against SEC foe Vanderbilt at 11 a.m. Then, compete in singles against Purdue directly following doubles.
