Wisconsin women's tennis introduces Class of 2023


MADISON, Wis. – High school seniors Kaja Jacobson, Ellison Reynoldson and Ava Martin have each signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Wisconsin and begin competing for the Badgers in the 2023-24 season. 
 
Meet the Class of 2023:
Kaja Jacobson is from Broomfield, Colorado, has one brother named Nikolas and is the daughter of Daryl and Ivona Jacobson. She intends to major in chemical engineering and attended Prospect Ridge Academy in Broomfield her first three years of high school and is completing her senior year in Bradenton, Florida at Lakewood Ranch High School.
 
In 2021, she was ranked No. 1 in Colorado, No. 1 in the Intermountain Region, 15th in the nation for the Babolat rankings, 7th in the nation for USTA and 2nd in the nation for RPI. Jacobson was also awarded the Margaret Rogers Phipps Award in 2020 for being the best player in Colorado under 16 for her sportsmanship and leadership.
 
Hailing from Camden, Tennessee, Ellison Reynoldson is a multi-sport athlete that also competed in cross country, volleyball and basketball. The five-star recruit is the daughter of Jamy and Tonya Reynoldson and has one brother named Jake.
 
As a junior she was TSSAA Tennessee State Champion, Jackson Sun’s West Tennessee Player to Watch, Top 15 Jackson Area High School Athlete 2021-22, 2022 All-West Tennessee Tennis Player of the Year, and District 13 in Region 7 Champion, all while going undefeated.

Ava Martin is a native of Menlo Park, California and intends to pursue a major in business. She is the daughter of Janelle and Barry Martin and has a 13-year-old brother named Graham. She attended Menlo-Atherton High School and also competed in basketball, softball and soccer.

In each of her three years of competitive play in high school (no season her sophomore year due to COVID) she was undefeated, First Team All-Conference and was a PAL Team Champion. She is another five-star recruit who has been ranked as high as 57th nationally and 10th in California.
