Vanderbilt Women's Tennis | ITA All-American Championships Day 1

CARY, N.C. ­– Vanderbilt women’s tennis began play at the ITA All-American Championships on Saturday with a trio of singles victories on day 1.

Freshman Bridget Stammel remained perfect in singles play on the season, earning a 7-6 (5), 6-3 victory over Maria Sholokhova of Wisconsin. The win moves Stammel to 4-0 in singles in her young Vanderbilt career.

Senior Marcella Cruz secured a victory over Arizona State’s Rachel Hanford by a score of 6-4, 6-0 to advance in the tournament.

Celia-Belle Mohr was also a straight-set winner, 6-2, 6-1, in her match against Jackie Nylander of SMU.

Action at the ITA All-American Championships continues tomorrow.
