Utah Welcomes Reid Jarvis to 2024-25 Roster

SALT LAKE CITY –  The University of Utah men’s tennis head coach, Roeland Brateanu has officially announced the signing of Reid Jarvis, a graduate transfer from Drake University. Jarvis is set to join the Utes for the 2024-25 season.

“Besides being a great tennis player, Jarvis brings a world of experience and leadership to our young and deep team next year,” Brateanu said. “He has won conference championships, has been on a team that has qualified for the NCAA Tournament numerous times and is a born winner and leader.”

Jarvis, a Springfield, Mo. native, finished up four years as a Drake Bulldog. He will join the Utes as a graduate transfer in the 2024-25 season. He sat out the 2023-24 season as a redshirt. In his time at Drake he recorded over 40 singles wins and 35 doubles wins. He also recorded an 18-1 record in the Summit League.

In 2022-23, he posted a 15-6 singles record playing primarily at the No. 5 spot. He played primarily No. 1 and No. 2 doubles and recorded a 10-7 overall record. He went undefeated with a 5-0 record in conference play in both singles and doubles. He is a two-time All-Summit League selection. He also served as team captain for three seasons with Drake.

I’m beyond excited to join the Utah family,” Jarvis said. “In addition to the university’s excellent athletic prowess, its exceptional academic reputation makes it a perfect fit for my goals as a graduate student. We have a young, talented team with an exceptional coaching staff. I couldn’t be happier to spend my final year of college in Salt Lake City.”
