Utah Falls 4-1 to UTSA at Neutral-Site Match

Louisiana

DENVER, Colo. – The Utah men wrapped up another weekend of road matches this afternoon with their second meeting against UTSA. Despite claiming the doubles point, the Utes fell 4-1 to the Roadrunners.

The Utes controlled the doubles scene as they claimed the first point of the match. On court two, Jayson and Michael Blando defeated the Roadrunner duo 6-1. Soon after, teammates Dylan Applegate and Geremia Rossi also downed the competition in a 7-6(7-4) match on court three.

On court one Geronimo Espin Busleiman and Bruno Krenn were in a tiebreaker game with score 6-6(2-3), but their match was unfinished.

The Utah men looked to singles play to control the match, but unfortunately fell short. On court two, Krenn retired from the match after dropping the first set, placing the teams in a 1-1 tie. Courts four, five, and six fell to the Roadrunners, placing the Utes at a three-point disadvantage and clinching the match.

Espin Busleiman won his first set 7-5 and led 4-3 in the second set but was unable to finish before the match was clinched. On court three, J. Blando won the first set and lost the second, pushing into a third set, but also left the match unfinished with score 6-2, 1-6, 0-2.
