ORLANDO, FLA. — For the second consecutive day, both sets of Tar Heel doubles pairs advanced to the NCAA Doubles Championship Quarterfinals following Wednesday’s competition.
The first doubles tandem to take the court for UNC was Reese Brantmeier and Elizabeth Scotty. After a weather-delayed Tuesday night, the pair quickly defeated the Arizona State Sun Devil duo of Spaka/Turkovic, 6-0, 7-5 to advance to the Quarterfinals.
To finish the day, Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig defeated Pepperdine’s Broadus/Tjen, 6-4, 6-0 to advance to the next round.
Crawley dropped her round of 16 singles match on Wednesday.
The NCAA 2023 Singles and Doubles Championship takes place each day this week with the championship matches taking place on Saturday, May 27.
