LOS ANGELES – USC men’s tennis gears up for their first and only home action of the fall season this weekend as the Trojans are set to host the four-day SoCal Intercollegiate Championships starting this Thursday (Oct. 26-29).
The Trojans are coming off a strong showing at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships, where junior Peter Makk led the way with a singles semi-final appearance, followed by strong performances from the junior doubles pairing of Samuel Rubell and Wojtek Marek, who made it to the quarterfinals.
Now, the team turns their attention to this weekend, where they will host top players from across the country in this four-day long tournament.
Five Trojans will take to the court this weekend looking to build on their fall season success. In the main draw, Marek will lead the way alongside Rubell, senior Lodewijk Weststrate and junior Karl Lee. Senior Niroop Vallabhaneni will begin singles play in the qualifying rounds.
In doubles, Marek and Rubell will look to continue their doubles success in the main draw, where they will be joined by Vallabhaneni and Weststrate.
Action will kick-off at Thursday, October 25 at 10 a.m. Results can be found at the tournament page here: Results.
