DES MOINES, Iowa – The University of Missouri tennis team marked the end of the fall season with the last day of competition at the Drake Invite hosted by Drake University on Nov. 5. The Tigers walked away from the Roger Knapp Tennis Center with seven wins from the weekend with four singles and three doubles victories.
Mizzou won their three singles matches against the University of St. Thomas on their final day of play. Sophomore Andrea Artimedi secured the win against Marthe Degeorges (6-2, 6-2), with senior Romary Cardenas Rifka also earning a victory against Jannah El Nemr (6-0, 6-2). Junior Sophia McLellan battled against Regina Talavera and won after a hard-fought match in three sets (3-6, 6-0, 6-4).
Doubles duos of graduate student Emelie Schwarte/Artimedi and Cardenas Rifka/McLellan all saw action against Drake University as they closed out the weekend in Des Moines. A

Closing out the fall season, the Tigers will return to the courts on Jan. 9 against Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Ariz.
