Spartans Drop Regular Season Finale, 2-5 at No. 37 Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – MSU Men’s Tennis dropped the regular season finale on the road at No. 37 Michigan, 5-2 on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Spartans two points came at the top two courts in singles, by way of sophomore Ozan Baris and redshirt-freshman Aristotelis Thanos. The 12th-ranked Baris came back to beat No. 18 Gavin Young, 1-6, 6-4, 6-3, securing his tied team-best 14th win of the season and a perfect 6-0 record in Big Ten play.
 
After dropping the doubles point, Thanos evened the score for the Spartans with a dominant 6-4, 6-3 straight-set victory in the two slot. The Athens, Greece native’s season record improves to 12-2.
 
Next weekend, the Spartans will head to the Big Ten Tournament in Chicago, Ill. as the No. 3 seed with their opponent to be determined following the matches around the conference on Sunday. MSU will face off with the No. 6 seed on Friday, April 26 on Northwestern’s campus at 5 p.m. ET.
