COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sydni Ratliff, a sophomore on the Ohio State women’s tennis team, will compete in the ITA Fall National Championships this week at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.
The Buckeye, from Columbus, Ohio, and a Columbus Academy graduate, earned a spot in the 32-player singles draw after finishing as the runner-up at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships last month.
Ratliff will start play with a match against Sarah Hamner of South Carolina at 3 p.m. ET Wednesday. One round will be held each day, with the tournament concluding Sunday with the championship match.

Noting Sydni Ratliff
- Ratliff started her sophomore season ranked 51st in singles in the ITA National Rankings.
- The 2022 Big Ten Freshman and ITA Midwest Region Rookie of the Year, she is 9-4 in singles this fall.
- At the ITA Midwest Regionals Oct. 21-25, Ratliff posted five wins to reach the final, where she was clipped in a third-set tiebreaker.
- Ratliff was a No. 9-16 seed in qualifying at the ITA All-American Championships in October. She won in the first round but fell in the second.
- In September, Ratliff made a run to the semifinals in the A-1 bracket at the Fall Ranked Spotlight.
- She was 28-11 in singles last year, including 10-5 in tournament play.
