SEATTLE – Washington Men’s Tennis hosts two challenging non-conference matches in the Nordstrom Tennis Center this weekend, looking to build on its big home win over Arkansas last Saturday. Friday, Feb. 23, Portland comes up the I5 corridor for a 1 p.m. showdown against the Dawgs. Then on Sunday, Feb. 25, Gonzaga heads over the Cascades to face the Huskies with a first serve at 5 p.m.

The Dawgs will look to climb back over the .500 mark as they currently sit at 4-4 coming off the win over the Razorbacks. In the first expanded computerized team rankings put out this week by the ITA, the Huskies are ranked No. 57. In doubles, Cesar Bouchelaghem and Dzianis Zharyn came in at No. 13 nationally, down three spots from their season-high.

The Pilots are 2-1, with wins over Seattle U. and Portland State, and a loss to Purdue. Last year the Huskies earned a 6-1 win over Portland. Oscar Brown has played No. 1 singles in all three duals thus far, going 2-1.

Gonzaga has gone 3-2 thus far, coming off a 5-2 win over Montana last Sunday. The Bulldogs also defeated Eastern Washington and Idaho by 6-1 scores, and had a 3-4 loss at Nebraska-Omaha, and a 0-4 loss at Nebraska.
