On the Court: No. 4 Wisconsin dances into B1G Tournament

MADISON, Wis. – The No. 4 Wisconsin women’s tennis team will compete in the quarterfinal round of the Ten Tournament against No. 5 Illinois on Friday, April 26, at 9:00 a.m. (CT). The matches will be played on the campus of the University of Michigan.

1. SCOUTING THE FIGHTING ILLINI: The Badgers took down the Fighting Illini, 4-2, earlier this month in Madison.

After dropping the doubles point, UW made a comeback in singles to clinch the team’s sixth big ten win of the campaign.

2. BADGERS IN THE B1G TOURNEY: Wisconsin finished fourth in the conference, posting an 8-3 record. The team won the tiebreaker with Illinois to earn a double-bye and play in the quarterfinal round of the 2024 tournament.

Last season, the Badgers danced to the semifinal round of the Big Ten Tournament where they dropped 4-0 to No. 1 seeded Michigan.

The first and only time Wisconsin has claimed a Big Ten Tournament title was in the 1996 season, when they also claimed the regular season title.

3. B1G HONORS: The Big Ten All-Conference women’s tennis team and individual honors were announced by the league on Wednesday.

Sophomore Maria Sholokhova was a unanimous selection to the All-Big Ten Team, while freshman Ellison Reynoldson was named a Sportsmanship Award honoree.
