No. 20 Women’s Tennis Readies for ACC Tournament – Women's Tennis — Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

THE FLATS – No. 20 Georgia Tech women’s tennis heads to the 2023 ACC Tennis Championship this week, opening play in the second round against 10th-seeded Syracuse on Thursday. First serve is slated for 12:30 p.m. at the Cary Tennis Park. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals and face No. 2-seeded Duke on Friday.

THE SCENE: Georgia Tech seeks its fifth ACC Championship this week in Cary, owning four tournament titles in program history. The Jackets bring a 13-8 overall record into the tournament and closed out regular season action 7-6 in league play. Last season, Tech earned the No. 6 seed in the ACC Tournament and went 1-1, defeating Boston College before falling to Miami.

SCOUTING TECH
– The sixth-seeded Yellow Jackets stayed steady at No. 20 in the ITA rankings released on Tuesday after closing out the regular season with a 1-1 weekend. Tech dropped a 4-3 heartbreaker to Florida State last Friday before stunning No. 13 Miami, 4-3, on Sunday. Battling back from a set down and facing match point, senior Rosie Garcia Gross clinched the victory at 4-2 for the Yellow Jackets.

SCOUTING SYRACUSE –Syracuse comes into the ACC Championship on an eight-match skid, most recently falling to Louisville, 4-3. The Orange picked up conference wins against Boston College, Florida State, Miami and Virginia Tech this season. In regular season action, the Orange captured the doubles point against the Yellow Jackets in Atlanta, but Tech swept singles play to claim a 6-1 victory.
