More Success For Men At ITA All-Americans Thursday


TULSA, OKLA.—Ryan Seggerman advanced to the round of 16 in the main singles draw and advanced to the quarterfinals in the doubles draw with Brian Cernoch at the ITA All-American Championships on Thursday.

Seggerman advanced to the main draw earlier this week through the qualifying draw and now has won his first two matches at the event hosted by the University of Tulsa.

On Thursday morning, Seggerman beat Virginia’s Jeffrey von der Schulenburg in straight sets, 6-3. 6-1. He moves on to a 10:00 AM Eastern Friday match with Andre Illagan of the University of Hawaii with a bid in the quarterfinals on the line.

On Thursday afternoon, Seggerman and Cernoch won for the second consecutive day, winning a thrilling, third-set tiebreaker to advance past Jonas Eriksson Ziverts and Herman Hoeveraal of Arizona, 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 10-7.

Seggerman and Cernoch will play SMU’s Adam Neff and Pranav Kumar on Friday at 4 p.m. Eastern.
