Miller, Rajecki, Smith, Shnaider to Represent at NCAA Singles/Doubles Championships


INDIANAPOLIS – Boasting its most entries to date, NC State women’s tennis will be represented by three singles players and two doubles pairs at the 2023 NCAA Women’s Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships.

Placed as the fourth seed, Diana Shnaider and Alana Smith clinched All-American status by being automatic qualifiers from the ACC in doubles play. The pairing is 11-2 in the regular dual-match season and went 6-1 in the conference. Both players also received selections for singles competition, Shnaider as the seventh seed and Smith as a top-16 seed. Shnaider has become the seventh All-American in program history while Smith picks up her first singles honor and fourth doubles honor, making it her fifth overall honor.

Nell Miller and Amelia Rajecki earned at-large bids in the 32-team doubles draw. Miller is coming off of her national championship season as she and Jaeda Daniel took home the trophy in doubles competition. The pair is 13-3 in the regular dual-match season and 5-2 in ACC play. For the first time, Rajecki also earned an at-large selection for singles competition.

The singles and doubles championships will be played at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. from May 22-27, following the conclusion of team competition. As a team, NC State opens NCAA Championship action at home on Friday, May 5 at 5 p.m. when it hosts South Carolina State for the first-ever meeting.
