Men’s Tennis Splits Final Day of Regular Season – University of South Carolina Athletics

Gainesville Fla. – No. 21 South Carolina men’s tennis split results on the final day of the regular season, falling to No. 25 Florida 0-4 before beating FGCU by the same margin. The Gamecocks also learned their fate for the SEC tournament where they will be the No. 11 seed.

During South Carolina’s match versus Florida, the Gators claimed the doubles point with a pair of wins from the top two spots in the lineup.

Florida was then able to clinch the match with wins at the Nos. 2, 6, and 4 positions for the victory.

South Carolina then went on to play FGCU where the Gamecocks claimed the doubles point with a pair of 6-3 wins from the Nos. 1 and 2 positions.

In singles play, Toby Samuel, Jelani Sarr, and Lucas Andrade da Silva all claimed singles points for the Gamecocks to sweep the match.

With the conclusion of the regular season, the Gamecocks were tabbed as the No. 11 seed in the SEC Tournament. They will face sixth-seeded Alabama on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Baton Rouge.

The Gamecocks came out on the better side of a 4-3 match against the Tide in Tuscaloosa during the regular season.
